Home to you

Build me a nest of twigs and leaves

Tinsel and sticks and tangled string

Dig out a hole

Down in the sand

With a towel there where i can lay my head

I dont care

Just want to come home to you

A pile of blankets laid on the ground

An inflatable mattress

Pull out couch

Start building a home from the things that we found

I dont care

Just want to come home to you

Maybe fold down the seats in the back of your car

Set up a tent in someone’s backyard

Id drive through the night just to be where you are

I dont care

Just want to come home to you

As we get older the days fly by

And the reasons for leaving

They call from outside

Id flip the tape over

And i'd press rewind

I dont care

Just want to come home to you

"home to you" was written in a van driving back from tour to Austin Texas. It is a simple love song with a clear message about how home is wherever you are with the person you love. This is my first release and is featuring a dear friend and fellow Austin musician, David Hudson Berger, on guitar and background vocals. My sweet friend Rachel filmed this live version in Austin last winter.
