Follow me

You said you walked up a hill, it smelled of daisies and daffodils

Stained by sunsets and bedtimes tales

Like the ones you told me

You said you watched the moon as it slipped behind a cloud

The only light came the from the town, but it wasn't enough to see

And as the wind chime clew like the calling loon

And it was tempting you to walk into the sea

And I said if you want you can follow me

So I lead a path and we followed a map of sea glass

Illuminated by a single matchstick flame

We stayed nice and calm and we followed the horizon

But you couldn’t find your way without the sun

And as the sea wind blew all the light was consumed

And you walked blind into the bay

But an incense fume pulled me back in to

And I said if you want I’ll follow you

If you need me to

The moonlight caught your eyes when you said that you’d wait for me

But as the tide pulled up on the beach, i saw you drift away from me

And I begged “let me follow you”

You said “you don't need to”

I waited in the calm before the grief

And as the day light broke

I turned to leave
